Vernon Lindsay, 79, of Irvington, was reported missing by his family to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office on May 27.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a body found in the Irvington area around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (June 3) afternoon.
MCSO Captain Paul Burch confirmed that detectives were dispatched out to Padgett Switch Road and 1 Mile Road a short time ago.
Burch said the body could possibly be 79-year-old Vernon Lindsay who was reported missing by his family on May 27. After days of searching to no avail, Lindsay’s family offered a $2,000 reward for information on his whereabouts.
“We won’t know until finish up, but there’s a possibility it’s him,” said Burch.
Lindsay was last seen wearing khaki shorts, a red, black and white hooded jacket and light weight work boots. At that time MCSO investigators said he was at his home located at 9639 Padgett Switch Road in Irvington, Alabama around 6:30 p.m. on May 26.
